Getting started

Sign up, land in your workspace, and place your first cue. Five minutes end-to-end.

Cuelist is a workspace for theatre cuelists: you upload a PDF script, annotate it in layers, and collaborate with the rest of the production in real time. This article walks the path from a fresh signup to your first placed cue.

1. Sign up

Visit cuelist.dev/signup, enter your name + email + a password (10 characters or more), and confirm. You'll land on the onboarding page.

2. Pick solo or team

If you're a single designer working on your own, choose Personal Workspace — we won't bug you with team-name fields you don't need. If you're setting up for a production company, choose Team workspace and enter the organisation name.

Either path drops you on the Projects page; the only difference shows up later when you decide to invite someone.

3. Create your first project

Click New project, title it after the show ("Hamlet", "Cabaret"), and confirm. You can fill in venue, opening date, and a cover colour later — none of them block you from working.

4. Upload the script

Drop a PDF on the Files tab. Cuelist processes the file in the background; per-page thumbnails and the cue-list view become available within a few seconds.

5. Place a cue

Open the Editor tab, press Q for the cue tool, and click on the script where you want the first cue. Fill in the cue number + label in the popover, save, and you're up.
